How its made

At Unknown Project Collective we currently work in three different projects...

Awareness:

We believe that there are no wastes in fashion, and every piece of fabric can be turned into a distinctive piece for everyday wear. That’s why we try to make use of every inch of fabric. With Guatemalan recycled cotton, we craft premium upcycled denim for our jeans and jackets. Our shirts and sweatshirts are also made with knit cotton - recycled cotton. We use organic paints to dye our fabrics with the local support of some families, and some of them are specially dyed using prehispanic methods with local materials native from our culture: pericon, indigo, brazilian wood, walnut shell, among others.

Nopal Leather:

The nopal goods is our most recent project, and our mission is to create high-quality accessories for everyday use, with low environmental impact. Local artisans craft our nopal leather and the metals that give life to our products. The packaging was also carefully thought, that is why we opted for recycled PET.

Unique:

We create exclusive one of a kind pieces from existing quality garments that have been discarded to bring them into a second life. We believe that there is no waste and that’s why we carefully select each piece of fabric to give them more life in new re-constructed high-end garments.
